Maintenance

2025

Maintenance is a photographic project inspired by Robson’s relationship with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), concentrating on the repetitive nature of compulsions and its personal impact.

Robson was inspired to use a lawnmower as the subject matter as there is a housing estate that has been abandoned near her home; however, someone maintains the gardens of each house. She drew parallels between the oddness of maintaining something that does not need to be done to her own feelings towards her compulsions.

This project is currently being exhibited at Edinburgh Napier University Degree Show, and later this year at Free Range at The Truman Brewery in London, July 2025.

This project has been shortlisted for Visual Arts Scotland Graduate Showcase Award 2025 and won the Photographers’ Collective Award 2025 from AGITATE.
